Privacy Policy

5CLUES (available at 5clues.xyz) is a free daily movie and TV show guessing game made by Fatih Özata. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights. By using 5CLUES, you agree to the practices described here.

We do not require you to create an account and we do not collect any personally identifiable information (name, email address, phone number, etc.) directly.

The following non-personal data may be collected automatically:

• Session IDs — a random identifier generated per browser session to track your current game state. It is not linked to your identity. • Usage data — page views, general geographic region (country level), browser type, and device type. This is collected in aggregate through Google Analytics/AdSense.

We use browser localStorage (not traditional cookies) to persist your game state between visits. This includes:

• Today's game progress (clues revealed, current guess) • Your all-time statistics (games played, wins, streak) • Your preferred language setting

This data lives entirely on your device. We cannot read it on our servers. You can clear it at any time via your browser settings.

Third-party services we use (Google AdSense) may set their own cookies for advertising personalisation. See Section 5 for details.

Movie and TV show data is sourced from public movie databases via server-side integrations. When you use 5CLUES, your browser does not make direct requests to these data providers — all data is fetched server-side and cached. No personal data is shared with third-party data providers through normal gameplay.

5CLUES displays advertisements served by Google AdSense. Google may use cookies and similar technologies to show you personalised ads based on your browsing history across websites. Google's data practices are governed by the Google Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy).

You can opt out of personalised advertising through Google's Ad Settings page or by visiting aboutads.info.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. Aggregate, anonymised usage statistics may be reviewed by us to improve the game. Third-party ad networks (Google) operate under their own privacy policies.

5CLUES is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of 5CLUES after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
